Avocetta publishes peer-reviewed original research, meta-analyses, reviews and short communications in a variety of ornithological fields including ecology, behavioural ecology, ethology, phylogeography, taxonomy, biogeography, and conservation. Although we accept contributions from any region of the world, the journal’s main target attains to the Palearctic bioregion.

Financial Information

Avocetta is a journal published by Milano University Press and edited by the CISO (Centro Italiano Studi Ornitologici – Italian Centre for Ornithological Studies). The Milano University provides funding for the basic operational costs. The journal itself receives no direct funding, either internally or externally, instead relying on volunteer labour for editorial management.
