On Thursday July 30th Caroline Edwards, OJC Executive Director, led a one hour session introducing the Collective to Publishing Members and Journal Editors. The one hour long Zoom session featured an overview of the organisation, how it fits with the existing funding landscape for journal titles within the collection, and what they can expect from being part of the movement. This was followed by an engaging question and answer session.
Feedback from those in attendance was hugely positive with comments including “immense gratitude for this undertaking, which is enormous and an incredible service to the transparency of our research” when reflecting on the plans for sharing spending reports to evidence the impact of funding available and more general praise: “Congrats on an incredibly heartening and, may I say, revolutionary, initiative! “
