The Open Journals Collective: building a sustainable future for academic journals
The Open Journals Collective will host a webinar on Thursday, October 15 at 11 am EST / 10:00 am CST. You can register to attend at: https://forms.gle/GcehZuF8tKJ1UCXe9. The webinar will be recorded for those unable to attend the live session.
The webinar is intended primarily for CRL (Center for Research Libraries) members and NERL Core members, but anyone interested in joining OJC is welcome. OJC membership is available via CRL, see: https://www.crl.edu/open-journals-collective-ojc-partnership
The webinar will introduce the Open Journals Collective, a global movement that allows libraries to support diamond open access journals at scale via our library membership program. OJC works with a range of nonprofit publishers to provide sustainable funding and longevity for their journals. And we offer libraries an alternative to the world of commercial big deals and Transformative Agreements. This session will explore our motivations for founding OJC, our vision, operating model and aspirations for the future. Join us to hear more about building a sustainable future for journal publishing!
